In the realm of love stories, Alex and Kayla's stands out with a beginning as modern as their musical tastes. It all started with a bold message from Alex to Kayla on social media, a compliment on her captivating eyes that sparked a connection leading to a relationship as epic as the 2000s alternative rock anthems they adore.
As a friend to Alex through the volleyball community, I've witnessed their bond strengthen both on and off the court. It was clear to me that Kayla was the perfect match for him, complementing his personality in every way.
Their wedding day at O’Brien’s Sleepy Hollow was magical, with the rain not dampening spirits but rather enhancing the romance and intimacy of the occasion. The day began with a tribute to Kayla's late mother. I had the honor of capturing these images and integrating Kayla’s ring, Alex’s ring and her mother's floral headpieces, which Kayla wore in loving memory.
My personal favorites from this ceremony including the flower boy, a grown adult, throw petals and shots of fire ball to all who wanted it. More personal, it was watching Alex see his bride Kayla walked down the aisle for the first time.
But let's talk about the music—after all, it's the heartbeat of any rockin' celebration. Alex and Kayla's love for 2000s alternative rock set the tone for the reception. The dance floor was constantly abuzz, with guests only stepping away for a quick drink, a visit to the custom cigar bar, or a moment to cool down before diving back into the fray, dancing to the tunes of Mayday Parade, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Avril Lavigne, and Fall Out Boy. It was a night where the music was as much a guest of honor as any person there. Thanks for the memories Alex and Kayla.
